Art of Sales

Ladies do we realize that everything we do is SELLING?! All day we are selling who we are, if someone likes us, our brand- WE ARE OUR BRAND.

You exemplify this everyday. For some reason people don’t like to think that they are IN sales. But if for one moment we recognized that what we do each day we are selling maybe we could accomplish much more.

For example: Teachers, is it true that your students will respect, listen and do most of what you ask of them if they at least like you? Absolutely, I remember having teachers that I didn’t have much interest in the subject they taught, but because I respected them I could tolerate and pass the class, I could even excel. Well this applies to all areas in our life. Charisma, empathy and shivery is not dead.

Let’s take a deeper look at the word sell: To give or hand over (something) in exchange for money; persuade someone of the merits of-promote; to persuade or influence to a course of action or to the acceptance of something; to impose on;

For some reason our society has put a negative connotation on a Salesman, when this was a respectable and valuable career. Now the word of attainment is Entrepreneur…great! Well to be an entrepreneur you have to be selling something to make money. What is your business and how do you get it to the masses. Lets focus our energy on being the best salesmen and then we can rep the benefits of being a successful businessman. But if no one likes you, respects or understands what you are selling you will not make money. The key work is Respect-

Respect- a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities or achievements; think highly of, have a high opinion of, hold in high regard, hold in high esteem, look up to, revere or honor.
I will say that the negative implications on a Salesman are because of schemes and the “get rich quick” business models that have hit the market. We have taken the work ethic out of being a businessman/salesman. It is work, it takes a mental strategy to work with humans, especially those who are also intelligent and who will not be sold on the first try. We have to be excited to use our mental strength and know that each day is a work in progress to meet our goals. Once they are reached we can celebrate those accomplishments. We prematurely celebrate before we have reached our destiny only to find out that we are on a journey.
